We developed a data-driven heat stress calculation for buildings based on open data, available from Climatrix.earth.
We aggregate and analyze the IPCC climate scenarios, the Finnish Meteorological Institute's more accurate temperature forecasts, and the climatic design conditions for the summertime cooling needs determined in the RAMI (https://lnkd.in/gJU8SWMZ) research project.
As a result, we provide individual heat stress scores & risk values for each property in Finland for the 30-year periods surrounding the years 2030, 2050, and 2080 in the emission scenarios RCP2.6, RCP4.5, and RCP8.5.
The calculation becomes more accurate when building-specific vulnerabilities are added. Climatrix calculates those from the customer's own building-specific information (HVAC, construction materials, areas, volumes, financial data, etc.).
